The Revista U.D.C.A Actualidad & Divulgación Cientifica is a scientific, multidisciplinary, peer-reviewed, diamond open access, and continuously produced journal. The journal aims to evaluate, publish, and disseminate research results from tropical and subtropical regions, specially from the Ibero-American Region. To facilitate access and appropriation of scientific production, the journal publishes articles in Spanish, English or Portuguese. The reception of manuscripts remains open from March 1 to June 30 of each year, and the articles are included in one of the two fascicles that are publishes each year; the first issue between January-June and the second between July-December. Most of the documents published correspond to scientific articles, however, also articles of reflection, reviews, case reports and technical notes are edited.

The articles published after 2012 are available in PDF, HTML or XML to read or download for free. The authors should not make any type of payment for the processing and publication of the manuscripts. The not charges for the publication to the authors and the free access to the readers obey by the financing of the Universidad de Ciencias Aplicadas y Ambientales and the disinterested collaboration of the peer reviewers.

The journal is edited without interruption since 1998 and is indexed in: Scopus, Chemical Abstracts, CAB Abstract, National Bibliographic Index Publindex classified in "B" Announcement No. 910 of 2021, SciELO Colombia, reviewed in Latindex and included in the database Periódica UNAM, Mexico, in the Directory of Open Access Journals-DOAJ, and in the Red Iberoamericana de Innovación y Conocimiento Científico-REDIB.
